What is ABET?
In South Africa there are currently an estimated 3.3 million illiterate adults.
The saying that one is never too old to learn is very true especially when you realise what the benefits of adult basic education and training are:
- Continuing adult education and training will boost an individual and motivate him/her in life and in business
- The new skills and knowledge learned can allow an individual a better job in future
What do ABET levels consist of?
The four levels of ABET training are equivalent to Grades R to 9.
ABET includes training in
- language, literacy and communication
- mathematical literacy, mathematics and mathematical sciences
- natural science
- arts and culture
- life orientation
- technology
- human and social science
- economic and management science.
