| PROFILE OF MR VELD COOPER
Veld Cooper is a Fellow of the Southern African Institute of Chartered Secretaries
and Administrators (ICSA) and was a Board member of that Institute.
He is a Member of the Institute of Commercial and Financial Accountants
of Southern Africa (CFA) and rendered many years of service to the CFA as a
member of Council.
- He is a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- He is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers
(ICB).

He is a registered NQF Assessor and Moderator.
He is a member of the SA Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP) the ETQA
which regulates the Human Resources profession in South Africa.
He is a member of the Association of Skills Development Facilitators of
South Africa (ASDFSA).
He has been appointed a Commissioner of Oaths for the Republic of South Africa.
He served as Vice-Chairman of the South African Institute of Chartered
Accountants (SAICA) Education and Training Committee for several years and was
actively involved in developments leading to SAICA's Training Outside Public
Practice, or TOPP initiative.
He was an active member of the Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants (CIMA) Gauteng Branch Committee.
He has received a national award for services rendered to the Association
of Black Accountants of Southern Africa (ABASA).
Veld was a founding member of the Management Board of the Financial
Services SETA (FASSET) and served as Chair of FASSET's Skills Planning
Committee in its inaugural year, which developed FASSET's highly-commended
first Sector Skills Plan, while also serving as a member of its Learnership and
Quality Assurance Committees. Veld has remained a member of the Fasset Skills
Planning Working Committee.
He was the founding Chair of the Standards Generating Body (SGB) for
Administration.
He was involved in the various processes leading up to the National
Accountancy Consultative Forum (NACF) and the Draft Accountancy Profession
Bill.
Veld spent the major portion of his working career with an international
mining house where his duties included internal auditing, tax and financial
management, strategic planning, staff screening, selection, development and
training, the development and management of mentorship programmes and liaison
with a broad range of professional bodies and associations.
Veld has since 1996 headed up a Management Consulting firm he founded - Veld Cooper and Associates (Pty) Ltd (VCA) which
provides a range of human resource development services such as skills
development facilitation; skills audits; employment equity compliance; BEE
compliance; training and the design and implementation of mentorship
programmes.
